Scale
Both oscillators are quantised to these notes. Osc 1 Pitch counts scale degrees up from the root; Osc 2 Pitch counts degrees up or down from Osc 1.

bit
loops
state
Bits move left to right on each step. The bit leaving a loop's right end comes back at its left end, flipped at random by Main and the loop's chaos.
The dashed box above the grid holds any unassigned parameters; drag one onto the grid to give it bits, or drag a bar into the box to unassign it. Drag a bar to move it, or its ends to resize it. Drag on an empty lane to draw a range. The pause button beside a parameter holds it at its current value (its bar greys out). Click a state bit to flip it.

Layouts on the card
Share a layout
A layout as a file, to keep or pass on. Loading one sends it to a connected card, but doesn't save it into a slot.
Inputs & outputs
| Inputs | |
|---|---|
| CV In 1 | Pitch, 1 V/oct, quantised to semitones |
| CV In 2 | Added to Main (randomness) |
| Pulse In 1 | Clock; Y sets an internal clock when unplugged |
| Pulse In 2 | Fires both envelopes |
| Audio In 1, 2 | Not used |
| Outputs | |
| Audio Out 1 | The voice |
| Audio Out 2 | Its output lane chooses: filter envelope unless changed (any envelope, LFO, oscillator pitch, or its own register value) |
| CV Out 1 | Its output lane chooses: Osc 1 pitch unless changed, calibrated 1 V/oct (MIDI note 60 = 0 V) |
| CV Out 2 | Its output lane chooses: volume envelope unless changed, calibrated |
| Pulse Out 1 | Its output lane chooses: envelope trigger unless changed (or clock, register gate, register trigger) |
| Pulse Out 2 | Its output lane chooses: clock unless changed |
Panel
| Main | Randomness: noon random, fully clockwise locked, fully anticlockwise locked and inverting (repeats at twice the loop length). With the switch up, Main chooses the layout instead |
|---|---|
| X | Transpose, 0 to +24 semitones |
| Y | Internal clock, about 1 to 16 steps a second |
| Pick up | After this page sets a knob's value, the knob does nothing until it reaches (or passes) that value, so nothing jumps. The dotted box and the orange line show a knob that is waiting, and where it is; LED 5 blinks fast on the module. |
| Switch | Up locks every loop; middle runs; down scrambles every bit inside a loop |
| Layouts | With the switch up, Main chooses one of six layout slots: six zones from fully anticlockwise (slot 1) to fully clockwise (slot 6). Flicking the switch up just shows the playing slot on the LEDs; a layout loads once you turn Main into another slot's zone. The chosen slot's LED lights for 1.5 s, and blinks if the slot is empty (nothing loads). Back in the middle, Main picks up its randomness setting again. The card starts up with the slot it last played |
| LEDs | LEDs 0-3 show register bits 0-3, LED 4 the clock, LED 5 the volume envelope (blinking fast while a knob is waiting) |
